Los Angeles bred Celebrity Fashion Stylist and Designer, NonjaMcKenzie is recognized as a force to be reckoned with, as she exemplifies diversity in fashion within her body of work. McKenzie’s riveting ever-evolving artistic ability has gained her a respectable reputation amongst some of the industry’s notable photographers and directors as David LaChapelle, Anthony Mandler, Albert Watson, Hype Williams, SanaaHamriand Dave Myers.
For the past 15 years her eye-catching and fashion forward styling have been associated with high profile clientele such as: Gwen Stefani, Backstreet Boys, No Doubt, Jay-Z, Macy Gray, The Black-Eyed Peas, Will Smith, the legendary Prince and a host of others too vast to name. With no formal fashion training, McKenzie learned the basics of fashion from her mother, a seamstress. She developed her skills as a stylist by assisting notable stylists Phillip Morrison, Kate Corrigin, and Kim Bowen. Throughout the years, McKenzie has worked with many publications including Vanity Fair, People Magazine, VIBE, GQ, Essence, and InStylejust to name a few.
In 2000, McKenzie and Director Hype Williams were awarded with the VH1 Vogue Fashion Award -Most Stylish Video for No Doubt 'Ex-Girlfriend'. Followed by much success, McKenzie collaborated with recording artist Macy Gray as Head Designer launching, the Natalie Hinds Collection for winter/spring '05-06.
After years of lending her fashion sense and designs to others, McKenzie debuted the NonjaMcKenzie. collection at the 2008 Mercedes Benz LA Fashion Week. Since then, her timeless pieces have caught the attention of fashion’s elite, Naomi Campbell, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, Jessica Simpson, actress Rosario Dawson; as well musicians Mary J.Blige, Nikka Costa and Fergieof The Black Eyed Peas.
The classic designs have graced the pages of the LA Times, Spin, Genlux, Italian Harper’s Bazaar and Flaunt magazines and have been selling exclusively in Croquette Boutique of Beverly Hills, and Jeffrey’s of New York.
Currently, McKenzie continues to shock the industry with unexpected fashion trends as they anticipate the designs of her next collection.
